BACKFLOW
Backflow testing and backflow prevention devices.
Have you ever heard the term “backflow” or “backflow prevention” before? As plumbers, it’s safe to say these are in our regular vocabulary. Essentially, the purpose of a backflow prevention device is to prevent water from flowing in the wrong direction. In other words, you want water to flow from the city to your home/building, not the other way around. Otherwise, you would run the risk of contaminated water! A backflow prevention device ensures this remains the case!
Whether it be in regards to commercial backflow prevention devices (like the one you’ll see down below) or residential backflow preventers, our team has plenty of experience in this field. This includes having the ability to provide certified backflow testing.
Certified Backflow Testing
Do you have a backflow prevention device at your house or commercial facility? For both those living in Kansas and Missouri, these need to be tested on an annual basis. Here at Stine-Nichols Plumbing, our team offers certified backflow testing services. When you receive a notice in the mail, feel free to give us a call and we’ll get you taken care of.
Backflow Prevention Device Installation
As you can likely guess, in addition to providing certified backflow testing, we are also able to install backflow prevention devices of all sizes. No matter if that is a large assembly like the one featured above or a smaller unit, we can help with all of your backflow prevention device installation needs.
KANSAS CITY’S BACKFLOW EXPERTS
“Backflow” is definitely a term that is in the regular vocabulary of those in the plumbing trade. As shown above, our team has the experience and equipment needed to complete certified backflow testing, as well as install new backflow prevention devices.
How often does a backflow prevention device need to be certified/tested.
Once a year. When you receive a letter from the city, you’ll need to schedule a time for a certified professional to come out and complete the testing. This testing is designed to ensure everything is working properly.
Does a sprinkler system backflow need to be tested?
YES! While you may assume backflow prevention devices are most common in commercial settings, a perfect example of one in the residential world would be in regards to sprinkler systems. And just like we answered with the question above, these will also need to be tested on an annual basis.
