WATER SOFTENERS
Reliable water softener systems for Kansas City.
Tired of dealing with all of the negatives associated with hard water? If so, you’re not alone! Given that Kansas City is home to above average levels of hard water, it can quickly become frustrating to live with. Whether it be the nasty mineral sediment that accumulates on your faucets, having to use more detergent when doing the laundry or anything else, there’s no denying that hard water can become an annoyance. And while it is safe to drink and wash with, why not try to eliminate these headaches with a professional water softener system?
Here at Stine-Nichols Plumbing, our team certainly has plenty of experience in the water softener industry! Through our years of working with them, we’ve effectively divided water softeners into two categories: traditional salt-based water softeners (which most people are familiar with) and citrus-based water softeners (built by NuvoH2O). We’ll discuss each of these possibilities below:
Salt-based Water Softener Systems
For most people, when you hear the word “water softener,” the first thing that comes to mind are the traditional salt-based systems. These have proven time and time again to be effective units, and truth be told, we don’t see them going away anytime soon! They operate through a process that essentially exchanges hard minerals (calcium and magnesium ions) with softer minerals (sodium). Once you start to browse through potential salt-based water softeners, you will notice there are several systems out there to choose from. Our team has installed a number of them over the years, including ones made by North Star.
Citrus-based Water Softener Systems (made by NuvoH2O)
Here at Stine-Nichols Plumbing, we always like to provide our customers with plenty of options! After all, it’s not uncommon for someone to have a personal preference on various plumbing-related components. If you’re looking for something different than a salt-based water softener, we encourage you to check out NuvoH2O‘s citrus-based water softeners. In addition to having the opportunity to incorporate a filtration system at the same time, NuvoH2O’s systems are remarkably effective, easy to maintain and truly take a new approach to eliminating the negatives that come with hard water!
KANSAS CITY’S WATER SOFTENER EXPERTS
Ready to invest in a water softener, but unsure of which system makes the most sense for you? Having installed numerous water softeners throughout Kansas City over the years, our team of plumbers can help steer you in the right direction and find a system that is both effective and easy to maintain!
What are the advantages of having a NuvoH2O system?
As highlighted above, one form of water softener that we provide installation services for are the citrus-based systems built by NuvoH2O. Being that they’re citrus-based, you can already tell that they’re approaching hard water in a manner different than the traditional softeners. Along with being effective at fighting hard water, they also are easy to maintain, can save space by being attached to the wall and even have a stylish design. Plus, for those that are truly looking to improve every aspect of their water, you’ll want to check out their systems that also include a filter with the softener.
What are some of the downsides of living with hard water?
While hard water is safe to drink and wash with, there’s a reason why water softeners have grown in popularity and are something homeowners often look to have installed in their home. So…with that being the case, what are some of the most notable downsides of living with hard water?
Being a plumbing company, let’s start with how it impacts your plumbing system. The mineral sediment accumulation that can build up in your water heater can cause issues over time (if you don’t regularly maintain and flush it). Not to mention, if you’ve ever noticed scale build-up on your faucets, hard water can be blamed for that as well.
Aside from plumbing-related matters, hard water can require you to use more detergent when doing the laundry (or more soap when washing your hands), can cause dryness to your hair and even result in your clothes fading rather quickly. Simply put, there are a number of different areas in your day-to-day life where hard water may present itself.
I have purchased a water softener made by another brand. Can you install it?
In addition to our recommended water softener systems, we are also happy to install customer-furnished water softeners too. As you can likely guess, there are a number of brands out there that produce water softeners, so if you have a specific one that you would like to use, we can help with the installation!
